That was amazing to listen to. What if you screen grabbed your Dad's last response and used it as a email signature for an email to him and all your siblings saying Happy Memorial Day? XD
Is it possible to try and find some family (outside your siblings) that might be willing to talk to you about your Dad. At one point I realized I couldn't trust any stories my Mom had told me growing up, so I called an Aunt and asked her if she could tell me about my uncle that committed suicide and about my grandparents. She asked me to first tell her what I was told by my mother, so I did, and she was horrified. So she really opened up to me and I got a completely different story from her.
