To touch on the Chemda's parents reaching out like it's a nice thing. I find that parents know what sounds and looks nice, but can fail to see how their overall actions are revealing their true feelings/intention. It's pretty powerful that their kids can also miss it, but the longer you are not interacting with people that do that, the clearer your brain gets and the harder it is for them to use the same tactics. It's great that Chemda can see it. To me, the actions show the parents only want to manipulate her to return to a relationship that's on their terms where they feel comfortable and good. If she really cared about how Chemda felt and wanted to have a real relationship with her, she wouldn't be acting like they hadn't spoken in years.

I think the same. She misses Chemda, but not enough to be open to a real relationship. She wants a relationship on her own terms, without a real conversation or some kind of change.
