I see what you mean.
For me I would be happy if my partner said, I will have time for you on your birthday, and we’ll see what else.
Of course I’m not Xerxes, but I’m also very Plan avoidant on my birthday. For me a plan is 4pm we do this, 6pm we do that, 7pm something else...
Sounds stressful.
If Mr Apia said, I give you a day off with me as a present it would not stress me out. I would feel good.
