Love love love Ophira

Keith's review of Squid Game gave me a headache.

English dubbing is notoriously terrible for almost every movie every made. I refuse to watch movies and shows like that unless I'm not really even watching it but I want something on in the background. I understand lots of people watch shows like that but it's always subpar and can make the experience much worse.

It's also a known thing that the English/American/British, etc. actors are overly-exaggerated and bad overall. It's not just because we can all speak English that we think the Korean parts were fine and the English was bad for the Americans. The English was genuinely bad, but that happens in a lot of "foreign" movies. When I'm watching Bollywood movies, for example, I sometimes have to leave the room when there's an American actor on screen speaking English.
