Ok so about the Dalai Lama: it's a grandfather thing in Tibet. The granddad will touch foreheads, then noses, with the kid. Then they jokingly say "I have given you everything, the only thing left is my tongue." ( or 'eat my tongue.') Like how Americans would say "I've got your nose!" Or "I could eat you up!" To a kid. English is not HHDL's first language and sometimes idioms come out wrong.
