First Robots To Break Asimov's First Law Of Robotics
|
If I remember right Asimov's actual I, Robot, not the movie that bears no resemblance to the novel, actually has as I mentioned earlier Robots that break the 1st law, simply because they calculate a 0th Law, which is a robot cannot by action or inaction harm humanity, which allows the killing of a human to protect humanity, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few ;])

the priorities of the laws of the military robots were changed so that the 2nd and 3rd laws could sometimes be more important than the 1st. But it doesnt really matter. These are "dumb" robots. They dont think in terms of laws. They don't even decide by themselves if they've acquired a suitable target. They roam about until they see something that looks like it might be people. |
Shit, I just saw this on digg and wanted to post it here for Keith. Looks like you beat me to it. Well, anyway, at least the word is out! HUAR!
