The beginning of this reminded me of something that a girl used to do to me. At certain times her brain would shift into useless.
Me: What should I do? Girl: You should do whatever it is that you think you should do. Me: That isn't helpful. I'm honestly asking for help. Girl: You should do whatever it is that you think you should do. So that's what I heard in this episode. McNally: I don't know what you want me to do. What can I do to make you feel better? Ayn: Do something that makes me feel better. McNally: OK, what's that? Ayn: Do something that makes me feel better. McNally: I don't know what to do. I can't come up with anything on my own, so please help. Ayn: Do something that makes me feel better. But… I also heard this, after a lot of help from Chemda: McNally: I don't know what to do. I can't come up with anything on my own, so please help. Ayn: Hold my face, call my name. McNally: Cheezy shit? You think things will be better if I do cheezy shit? Ayn: Yes, I want that. McNally: Well I'm not doing that.

I'm of the opinion that everyone needs to date someone crazy for a while, just to force them to learn about themselves and how to pick a decent partner. Eventually, the line from the standup bit about "you can't fuck a crazy girl sane" will make sense to you, and certain things in life will be a lot clearer to you. My wife tells her friends that get into serial monogamy with crazy relationships that they need to figure out who they are as a single person first and be HAPPY with it. The rest will come. And I'll be watching for the release of the KATG relationship book. Chemda showed some pretty good insight before she decided it was more fun to watch the trainwreck than playing couples counselor. |

Ayn was acting like a bitch. McNally must have a lot of patience to not lose his shit over her emotional retardedness. For god sake, he used his dick to help her vomit and she still wants more?!!??
My ex was exactly the same as this, "i want you to want to see me, i want you to compliment me". It got old real quick. Last edited by serial_x; 01-24-2009 at 03:35 AM. |

What I loved was how they're both so articulate but so shit at communicating. Finally Chemda (Jesus bless her) spelt it out that a man doesn't respond well to vague bullshit like, "I want you to be present when you fuck me," unless you give him specific bullshit about what actions he needs to take to be present. Not that it helped anyway, McNally didn't even acknowledge the first list of five things she laid out explicitly and when she said she wants him to say her name in bed it met a brick wall.
The key moment was McNally admitting that in fact he did have more to give but he was holding himself back because he's afraid of it hurting too much when he bails back to Canadia. Ayn is right that he has it in him to be more emotionally involved, but McNally is right that if he says he's not willing to give more then she needs to come to terms with that. In other feedback, the conversations about the music were aces too, just like in the 74-Hour show. I could listen to that shit all day whether I agree with the taste or not, it's just interesting to have insights into other peoples' tastes in music and it comes out much better in conversation than it does in forum posts. |
