These forums seem the furthest thing possible from an organized society, and still have internet access. Or are you also hypothesizing there's some organization here?

I'm talking about Keith & Chemda's circle of friends. Call Keith & Chemda the rulers if that makes it easier for you. Next time I'll try not to use such flowery terms.

I have issues with this thread because I understand where McNally is coming from. He's a sensitive guy with his own sense of morals and values. Morals and values that he determined meant something to him, all on his own. He didn't let a religion dictate those to him, and he didn't completely shit on the idea of them because anti-religion is just SO cool! Keith and Chemda kinda shit on McNally because of his ideals when in actuality he should be congratulated on them. He sticks to them with a dogged sense of idealism despite any "supernatural" consequences like Hell. That should be applauded.

Now, that being said, I think he has taken his relationship with Ayn too far. It's fairly obvious(with the little we know of their relationship) that the two of them have serious issues. Ayn is clearly very insecure with herself, McNally is clearly insecure with her sexual past, and they are both clearly insecure in the future of their relationship. I, myself, couldn't have lasted even this long in a relationship with Ayn because of the way she acts. She's pretty hardcore and bordering on bitchy. Unfortunately for him, those close to him, and now apparently all of s that either read the forums or subscribe to the backstage shows or both, he continues the relationship. Probably because of the loneliness issue inherent in being in a different country for a finite amount of time, so in a way I can't blame him for holding on to that companionship as long as possible.

Again, that being said... I still think that what potatoE said was OUT OF LINE. "I'm mean" is not an excuse to out and out be a dick to someone, ever. Especially if you interact with them on any sort of regular basis. You have a responsibility as a social human being to at least keep things cordial. Not for your sake, not for McNally's sake, and not even for Ayn's sake, but rather for the sake of anyone who is friends with all of you and wishes to invite you all to any sort of gathering. Now Keith and Chemda have to deal with your imposed awkwardness anytime they invite you to a gathering. Is that fair? I think not. Everyone likes to pretend that potatoE is so great and wonderful because she's so frank and honest and sassy, but honestly it just comes off to me as the pedantic whining of a spoiled little girl.

Tatoe was clear about the fact that she and McNally may run in the same circles, but they aren't exactly friends. That said, she stands to lose nothing by being honest about how she feels. It was not appropriate for her to say she'd rape Ayn out of spite, but the fact that she wouldn't back down to McNally telling her to act like a grownup is why I think tatoe deserves credit for her argument. She didn't have anything, therefore she didn't have anything to lose.

Except that her continued argument consisted of "Wah" and "I don't like you" and not much more.
