I'm enjoying the 'behind the scenes' look at the editing process, even if it seemed to start from a bad place. I haven't done any editing since 2 channels of video, one audio and a time track. Or was it two audio? I didn't do much of it.
I'm curious whether you keep the sound and video together, McNally, or sync them in the end? Either way, I have no complaints about the final product. Again, though, thanks for the look at the process. Would have been easy to blow off this thread, but instead we got a rundown of what the job entails. Very cool. |

But I didn't know what the quality was that McNally received. So, if the quality was high enough, it actually is up to him. |

In this case it was a mix of two audio tracks, mainly the center camera because it seemed to get Keith the best, and a bit from the camera on the left because it picked up more crowd laughter. I did a quick mix at the start, but the occasional video glitches would glitch up the audio as well, throwing the two out of sync. So once the video was all done I did another pass of the audio alone to make sure the levels seemed okay and that the two tracks stayed together.

I don't see the video? I would love to see it, where's the link? Although, I was there and I know Keith did a great job. The audio, for all our shows there are always recorded by the sound guy, yet this was this kid's first night working there and for some reason, he didn't know he was suppose to record it? That sucked, I should have gone over w/ him before the show. So I apologize that the audio from their sound board was not available. There is a chance that it was automatically recorded into the sound board and archived, but I doubt it. Ed the head audio tech hasn't responded to my email in regards to that.
