168: That's the Show with Dan Abraham
Ahoy, mateys! Welcome back to This is the Greatest Show Ever Danny. Comedian Dan Abraham and his fancypants camera join The Morning Zoo Crew to discuss negative feedback with Danny's psychiatrist, compete in the first-ever Third Annual That’s the Show with Danny Academic Bee, and show off his butt tattoo. Full of beloved new characters, radical and appealing bits, and an all-around sense of goodwill, Episode 168 is a sure-to-be future classic likely to go down in history as one of comedy's defining moments, right alongside the first Bazooka Joe comic and the second time Jennifer Lawrence tripped at the Oscars. I am being held hostage and someone, I assume Danny, is forcing me to write this description, all because I wanted to be cheap and buy a dresser from Craigslist instead of just going to IKEA. Please help. Please tell my wife I love her dad's Netflix account. And tell my son his daddy loved him very much and would have been so proud of him no matter who he decides to love, man or woman, and that, heck, even his old man was in college once and college can be such an…experimental time. Full of all sorts of new sensations and learning experiences and cherished memories. College fucking rules. But please try to rescue me before you tell my son all of that. You can go ahead and tell my wife the Netflix thing, though. Oh god he’s got a knif

I don't even care about the bit. It's your show and your right to experiment. What I'm commenting on is your response to the feedback. If you had acted this way when you first started, you wouldn't be where you are. You have a forums set-up for your show, clearly you want audience feedback. Didn't the Shane Mauss bit always get mixed reviews since you started doing it? You had to know an hour-long episode of the bit would get a reaction. I didn't used to listen to TTSWD on a regular basis when you first started, but I've become a fan over the past year or so. However, hearing your "fuck you, audience. I know what's funny" attitude over the last few episodes is insulting. It's not balls, it's stubbornness and it's a step in the wrong direction. |
I tried to read your comment but my psychiatrist ripped it up right in front of me so I couldn't finish. Sorry. (Not sorry.)

Ok... then don't go on for 3 shows about "why don't people like me." Do your thing.

I guess great radio can be a hectic beast |
I loved this episode, Danny you were so quick with some of your quips you'd think they were pre-written;
Dan: "Can you do great and not keep up?" Danny: "Ask my cross country coach, sure!" As for your bits - you gotta try these things and just be confident in what you do. Everything can't be gold to everyone all the time. I thoroughly enjoy your show and even if some bits don't float my boat, I know that it won't be long before I'm laughing again. I don't comment much on the forums these days but take this as a big overall "well done, bud" for all the TTSWD episodes I've not commented on lately. |
