Fantastic episode. Mean Danny and being-mean-to Danny are both hilarious.

As far as the vodka & coke thing goes, I'm in. Drink it all the time and I'm well past college age. Can drink it all night and not get a hang over at all. Love it :)

If you have to drink vodka and Coke, at least make it vanilla vodka.

But seriously, just have a scotch (neat).

And make it a decent single malt.

I do, Islay is a mighty fine spot, evidently.

A friend of mine calls the Isley and Speyside variants "dead body scotch." I prefer them, but am just as happy that not everyone else does. It leaves more for me.

i've never gotten into bourbon. just had the cheap shit that always tasted to sweet & sickly, so I stuck to scotch. are the good ones less sweet than JD & Jim Beam?

They're both less sweet and more complex. JD and JB are the Fosters of bourbons, lowest common denominator beverages (which is why they're so well known). Bourbon does have a sweetness to it from the charred cask and the fact that corn is a major ingredient, but it shouldn't be syrupy.

OK, good to know. Got any recommendations for a noob to try?

Maker's Mark is probably available where you are and Buffalo Trace is a pretty decent, mid-range bourbon too.

Yep I can get makers mark. If i venture down that road, i'll post here. anyone who has a palette for scotch is worth listening to.

Knob Creek is another good one if it travels that far without being absconded by Malay pirates.

Katharine was magnificent. The problem with Danny shows is there are so many brilliant episodes I want to nominate several for KATGuhs, but then there's the ever-present and highly lethal danger of vote-splitting.

Katharine was quite perfect.

Opinions, is the Danny show for the younger sect? Are those that love it largely from the under-30 crowd?

Nah...I just hit forty and I'm loving it. Danny speaks to a large cross section. He will be regarded as a sage one day...possibly learn the sitar and have many wives.
