Brittany's Road to Recovery

Hey Brolo,
I've been with my boyfriend for about 8 months. He's quiet, reserved
and private while I'm the complete opposite. Neither one of us really
wanted anything serious at first, but I've fallen in love with him. He
doesn't show much emotion, it took him almost 5 months to say that we
were boyfriend and girlfriend. He JUST told me he loved me at
Christmas time. I've been wanting "more" while he seems content on
"whatever".
He recently lost his job and has been in a funk. Last week out of the
blue he told me that he can't love me and wouldn't he know "by now" if
he were to be "in love" with me?
Do I just lick my wounds and leave? Or do I stick around with hopes
that he realizes we should be together?
