I've only felt relaxed at a few parties in my life. Many times the booze doesn't even help (unless I'm beyond the point of self awareness). Hanging out at the live show in NY last April was torturous because I was sober.

I've always considered myself to be a very social person, but I'm going through the same type of thing right now. I just moved to Austin about 3 weeks ago, and throughout the first week and a half I had never been more lonely in my life. I think it could possibly be the combination of moving out of my parents house for the first time, still trying to find a job, not knowing anyone out here except for my ex, etc.
But, after a while it does get better. I forced myself to start talking to people and now I have a few people that I can call friends. It's very, very tough, but it is definitely getting there.

No more casino time for me. Gonna get back into the daily grind of making money and get a real job. And I do need to get back to Yurp.

No way! I've had the good fortune of meeting you and I didn't get this at all.I won't stand by while you say such things.

I can function fine in the real world, but I'm actually pretty shy in real life.

Aren't you a dear. But there's no denying I have a creepy factor at times. The filter btwn my brain and my mouth is lax causing me to do things like ask really inappropriate questions for the level of relationship ('hey, why'd you divorce your wife?' 'You're adopted? Oh, tell me about missing your mother as a child.')
