Agreed, it sounds medieval and barbaric, but what most people do not see in this type of punishment is that it is not menat to stop the perpetrator from committing the crime again but:

-To scare some possible future molester from commiting the crime

-To eliminate a memember of society who isnt contrinbuting to anything good but is actually detracting from it

-To give to the families of the victims or the victims themselves some satisfaction (and that's why i think that THEY should be the ones to decide the punishment)

If men act as wild animals, they should be treated as wild animals. Idealism and humanitarism will only bring disappointment.

If it was purely about sex drive, then some form of castration would do the trick. But since the intended targets are children, not adults, it is about being seriously fucked in the head, not about sex. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court already ruled lobotomies as a violation of the 8th Amendment. They performed them on prisoners for a while.

There is a theater near me that plays a lot of documentaries and indies. So, for a first date I suggested to grab a bite to eat and catch whatever movie was playing there...neither of us knew what it was about, but I was expecting more of a Royal Tenenbaums kind of movie...which has its own uncomfortableness. It was actually very, very uncomfortable.
