Magical show. Ted is a funny comic on its own, but Keith and Chemda really made his appearance special. I cant think of any other show where you can get interviews so different, personal and entertaining. Amazing.
Also: if you watch child porn, maybe you never, or ever will, molest a child (altough it's almost impossible) but you're supporting the depiction of child molestation. You're equal to a child molester. Last edited by Junkenstein; 08-04-2009 at 02:03 PM. |

Keith's parents are kinda like my grandparents, except they never said they disowned me. They just never talk to me and send me money and weird letters on my birthday/christmas/easter.
And loli hentai is fucking weird. It's just little girls getting raped. EDIT: Watching the part with Gates... Whether you think that Gates shouldn't have been angry or not, he was arrested, not for "breaking into" his house, but for bad behavior in a "public" area. He was on his private property. The charge he was given was disorderly conduct. It dosn't matter if he was on his private property or not.

There are inconsistencies in the police report; but who is lying is almost impossible to determine at this point. For instance, while I believe that a Harvard literature professor might angrily ask, "Do you know who I am?!" I kind of doubt that he'd resort to "Yo mama" comments. Also, while the cop claims that he met the reporting neighbor outside the residence and she told him that she'd seen two black men with backpacks, this neighbor has publicly denied this, and the recording of her call to police backs up her claim that she did NOT identify the people as "black men."
Gates was arrested for disorderly conduct after "being observed exhibiting loud and tumultuous behavior in a public place." He was in a public place at that point because the cop refused to give him his name and badge number unless he left his house and went outside, at which point he was then in public and able to be arrested for disorderly conduct. I don't strictly think that racism was at play here. I do think the cop was wrong for arresting him, particularly seeing that the only reason anyone else saw this public exhibition of tumultuous behavior is because the cop told Gates to leave the house and go outside. But the other Boston police officer who sent out emails calling Gates a "banana eating jungle monkey," now HE is racist.

I think the choice of shows by the cd sender is interesting. There are clearly far more embarrassing episodes that could have been chosen.
I think that this isn't just someone trying to screw with Keith. I think in some weird, twisted way this person actually thinks they're doing something good by involving Keith's parents in what they perceive as his "problems" (i.e. drinking and atheist-pot-smoking-jew-dating). |

To play Devil's Advocate, I kinda have to admire Keith's parents for trying to "influence" his life in a seemingly reasonable manner. I mean, they could be like other people I've known whose parents have not agreed with their lifestyle and just gotten into "my child is dead" type of arguments, anger and plain shunning. I mean, knowing nothing than what Keith read on the show, it sounds like his dad obviously cares about his life enough to try.
But the real fault is whoever the fuck passed the CD along, that's just plain both cruel and crazy. "Hey lets torture this guy's family and make his girlfriend seem like the spawn of satan for no God damn reason." shrug, i'm sure they'll come around. |

For further viewing after 'Capturing the Friedmans' (far from enjoyable, but certainly interesting...) check out 'Stevie'. It's a doc made by the guy who made 'Hoop Dreams' about his revisiting the kid he mentored as a Big Brother and finding out that he's a fuckup adult.
The Friedman flick was an awful history seen in retrospect. 'Stevie' is a pederast trainwreck playing out in realtime. |
