It seems like all the little teen pop stars sing with that same weird half-growly tone now....at least as far back as when Averil was pretending she was punk. I don't like it. Also, I guess the real guy that Midnight Express is based on has said that the movie didn't portray things correctly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Hayes_(writer) Last edited by Blitzgal; 08-28-2009 at 10:31 AM. |

That movie has a strange effect on people. Many love it, many find it too manipulative and over the top. Apparently it has to do with Alan Parker's directing style.
I'm not too much into it. There are better stories of people imprisoned in foreign countries ("An Evil Cradling" is great), that werent semi-scumbags. And if you like scumbags there's always Howard Marks and Chopper Reid... |

TM ( tee hee ) & copyright
sorry this thread is out of place, it's in response to the awesome Chilli Off KATG-TV ep. which was great - thanks for putting these out!
i noticed there was a copyright thingy at the beginning and i know Chemda likes saying "TM ( teehee)" when she hears a good idea to lock it down. I know you probably know this and are just kidding , but just for your own protection, just writing "copyright" or "TM" on something doesn't mean shit. Not even mailing yourself something works ( this is an old tyme thing that doesn't work anymore ) - you actually have to register with the US Copyright Office or the Patent and Trademark Office. just don't want you to get burned if you think you've protected something when you haven't... thanks for all your hard work! catpee
