They're one of the most awesome bands that popped out in the last decade. Check their records out (start with that one or "From Beale Street to Oblivion", good starters) and go see them live whenever you can. They're devastating onstage and their audience is a bunch of badass party people...

I think the cryptic last sentence means that you didn't know the song titel yet?

Am i the only one who found the image of Myq being heckled (and given the finger by a two year old) somehow heartbreaking?

Hope the shows go well, even if i have to say... The sklar brothers... yeeeesh.

I even read somewhere that they were described as The Beastie Boys of Comedy. As a fervent disliker of the Beastie Boys, i'd say that it fits. White (in the bad meaning of the word), screechy and overrated. Totally.

Agree... one of the best bands EVER.
And they are even BETTER live.
I've been a fan since 1995.

Although I'd recommend the older stuff, like Transnational Speedway League: Anthems, Anecdotes & Undeniable Truths or their self-titled album. Both are spectacular works of art.

So glad that you have discovered them, Keith!

And Chemda, if you watch Ace of Cakes, the bakery manager, Mary Alice, is the sister of the singer from Clutch. There are a lot of Clutch references on that show.

I discovered them in england with "Elephant Riders" and never been disappointed. Their early stuffy is amazing, but maybe it's better to start with less jamming material. The S/T has those big "pile of riffs" songs that are more appreciated when you know their style.

I recall seing them at an early show in Italy. We were 5 (literally) people and yet they kicked ass. Amazing. And Neil writes some of the most insane lyrics ever.

"Like Marlon Brando, but bigger.
You'll find that creature at the bottom of the deep down Susquehanna River.
This one I had stood right on up to me,
Tore out his hook and declared himself a prodigy.
But oh no, fishing ain't what it used to be"

I've already done part one of the study. The study is just to... Um.. I know I read the paper once... Something about the brain and post traumatic stress. Spooky is pretty accurate. I haven't had any severe traumas in my life, so I could be a "normal/healthy" control; although the small things I mentioned could put me on the other side, they'll decide, but either way they're going to use me.

On the first day, I got blood drawn, a physical, a psych evaluation/IQ test, and an MRI. It was pretty cool. I got $80 for my work yesterday. Part 2, happenig next Thursday I'm getting 2 PET scans, and Keith was right, they'll be pushing the dye into my system. I have to do 2 two hour scans, and they're $750 each, so even if I only do one, I'll get paid for that. The payment is 6-8 weeks later.

Health update, I'm 100% healthy for someone who eats entirely too much candy and no vegetables. My glucose levels are fine! No diabeetus for me! All of my levels are within healthy ranges. So hopefully I'll fall asleep during the PET scans like I did for the MRI. Also, based off of my gets from yesterday, the doctor heading the study said I'm eligable for tons more studies they'll be conducting in the near future!
