I thought he was a great guest and a very funny person. What religion he is would not impact my choice of seeing or hearing his work again. I Really hope he is a guest again really soon, as that was one of my favourite episodes.

I think these polls are way too extreme. I would say "yes", but not that extremely, it's more of "why would anybody choose that" (but I'm atheist). I chose No because my reaction is closer to that than the extreme yes option. I guess people who feel similar to me chose the yes option available, which makes it seem like 33% of the listeners have extremely negative view of Ryan now.

As far as the mormon garments go, it is true they aren't supposed to talk about it with any who have not made the "covenant with god." Thus when you bring it up, especially when making light of them, mormons get extremely uncomfortable.
The garments have all sorts of mormon urban legends associated with them. "They can be bullet-proof if you are doing god's work," "men have started undressing to be unfaithful to their wives and when they saw their garments were reminded of their covenants and ran," etc. As far as the religion changing my attitude about the guy, no way. First, the reason I hate all religions is the attitudes of judgement it spawns in its members, so I won't indulge, and second, all religions are crazy. "An invisible person up in the sky wants me to be good and will be so mad if I'm not that I will spend an eternity burning in agony after I die ("good" meaning whatever an inaccurate and repeatedly mistranslated ancient text says it means). |

@Grapist - That clip is very funny and also VERY misinformed.
Also, Hi forum! I've been listening to the show for a while now and reading the forums, I've just never had anything good to say. Last edited by admiralakbarcereal; 11-16-2009 at 12:11 AM. Reason: Forgot to say Hi to the forum folk. |
