But you think (all) verbal threats should really be punished, right?
What would you say is the difference between verbal threats (airport-twitter) and verbal violence (between French spouses)?

The way I see it, twittering a threat to blow up an airport is the modern equivalent of shouting fire in a crowded theater. I'm glad he got detained. In this day in age, an adult should know better.

Except instead of a crowd of people in a theater, its a room of your friends. And the people panicking are not the people in the theater, but someone walking by the room.

I disagree. You're posting on the internet where anyone can see your dumb twitter post. If anything, you're effecting more people than shouting fire in a theater.
