music snobs will automatically vote no just because they can't see it any other way. the attitude is normal to them.
chemda is not a music snob though, she honestly just likes what she likes. maybe a music asshole. |

I agree with Chemda and Patrice when they talk about there being "crack" in the music. Something about a hook can really get you (moving on the dancefloor, humming along, tapping a foot, whatever) and that can apply to almost any kind of genre really. So, yeah I think Chemda is sometimes a music snob, but it seems like she's usually hating-on and hardest-on people who can't really sing well. Other times she understands the crack in that song and likes it.

The music snob i know are people who like one type of music and are sarcastic and contemptious at everyone who listens different stuff. Chemda has her own taste and maybe isnt very open minded but i wouldnt say she's a snob.
Plus, she's a singer and a very talented one, of course her judging of other singers is going to be harsher than usual. Gotta say that she also loves to belittle Keith's taste for rock, so i am conflicted. On Avatar: still havent seen it but i'm banking on no. Ther more i hear, the more it sounds like another Star Wars: lots of eye candy, nerd dumbness and a silly story. I'm with Marc Maron on this: people who treat this thing like it's the door to a better worls and say that they would love to live in that world are pathetic. You could have a similar experience without wasting so much money and time in an overproduced cartoon. |

I liked Avatar but you have to watch it from a technical standpoint. The story was written by a camera man not an actual writer. So if you go into it thinking there's gonna be some depth then you will be unhappy. If you go into it thinking this is gonna look fucking cool then you will be happy. But the best 3D in the entire film was the fucking Cheshire Cat from the Alice In Wonderland preview. He was super tits.

911 operators
When I was an Emergency Medical Technician in Philadelphia back in the 1970's, the emergency operators were trained on how to handle suicide phone calls. Of course, it is 30 odd years later, and perhaps they have cut the budgets.
If that couple who committed suicide had lived in the UK, they could have been taken care of, but only if the authorities had known of the problem. I thought it was funny that so many Republicans in the US have suggested that the theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawkings, would have died in the UK when he is actually British and was treated on the British Health System. He would have died on the US method of health care, not the British Healthcare system. Last edited by whatotherway; 02-03-2010 at 10:32 AM. |
