Maybe you're right...maybe THAT'S why I'm a physics grad student. I even know how lasers work now!
Did I say that? No, it doesn't mean you are going to be a serial killer and again if your school had no problem with you playing lasers then play all the lasers you want to. I've never worked in an elementary school but I will tell you what happens in preschool when kids play with guns inevitably it ends up with at least one child crying or pushing the other child because their friend just "shot" them. There are entirely practical reasons for stopping children playing with guns.

But aside from that this school had a rule. The child broke the rule. The child got a warning about breaking the rule. When did it become a bad thing to discipline children?

I'm sorry I really can't take you seriously. You keep changing your argument.

My argument has never changed. I said all along that in this instance the child broke broke a rule and deserved to be punished. Then I went on to talk about my own experiences working with children and when someone asked me what I would do if I caught them playing with guns what I would do.

In this case the child deserved to get punished for breaking the school rules. All child care centres I have worked in had similar or stricter rules about guns, and I would have no problem enforcing them. Does that clarify it for you?
