Yes, i dont like baseball, so everyone who likes it must die.

Seriously, though, i understand that i'm pushing the example in a far direction but i just dont get how a guy who thinks a snowball fight is a dangerous anarchist convention is in the right, I get it, they're juvenile idiots but he should've known better. Exactly because he's a cop.

I missed the part where he shot anyone, or discharged his weapon in any way.

IMO, his biggest mistake was not identifying himself as a cop. Although, that's according to the idiots who were busy pelting him with snowballs.

<sean connery voice> Isn't that just like a wop? Brings a gun to a snowball fight. </connery>

To be clear:

The DC cop seems to have over reacted. Anarchists? What is it 1930?

The NY cop, sounds like there may be more to the story.

Blitzgal: giant snowball in the middle of the street? C'mon, that's funny.

I always end up thinking from the perspective of the person who has to clean it up. I can't help it. These are the same "kids" who leave vomit all up and down the sidewalks downtown from Wednesday evening through Sunday. Okay, I guess my attitude stems from the fact that I really fucking hate college students.

.
So i guess he drew the weapon to scratch his own head?

If a guy is so neurotic that he draws his gun in fear of a bunch of retards throwing snowballs, he shouldnt be a police officer.

AND there are less idiotic punishment for dumb kids. Beat them unconscious, dont pull out your gun.

Yeah, the DC guy was in a Hummer, too. Shit, we used to throw snowballs at the plows when we were kids (cos clear streets meant re-opened schools).

To be clear, again, there seems to be a difference between the DC incident and the NYC one. The DC cop could have just flipped the bird as he passed by, the NY cop seems to have been chased (on foot) and or threatened.

Now Keith may not see these distinctions, because he is afraid of 'outside'

I can't believe this poll is this close (50/50)! Since when do we live in a world where a bunch of adult hoodlums can harass and throw things at strangers on the street without getting arrested?! I remind you- these "kids" were around or greater than 18 (one was 22), AND they had prior records. How could someone possibly say the cop was out of line?

If your problem was him drawing a weapon to arrest them....how else should he have done it? Pointed at them very sternly and kindly asked them to wait riiiiiight where they are while he calls the police for backup? No; he had to show them he was a cop, that he meant business, and that they were getting arrested. Which....that's right.....has happened to all of them before!

Yeah, I still hate them.

I had someone hurl a snowball at my windshield while driving along. Scared the shit out of me -- I could easily see how someone could potentially lose control of their vehicle in that moment of shock. To me it's kind of like people who throw things off overpasses to see what happens when it hits a car below. It's all fun and games until somebody crashes their car.

Yeah, the NY COP seems to have been in a more distressful situation, so i guess he might have reacted the right way.

But the DC cop is a nutjob.
