Cellphones are not accepted to cause cancer, not even close. There may be some debate, (mostly by the same people that say they have a Wifi allergy) but there is no scientific consensus. Don't take that to mean that the issue is undecided. In science, if there is no evidence for something, it is as likely to exist as pink unicorns.
source: US Government Summary of Several Studies A relevant quote: A pooled analysis of data from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom did not find relationships between the risk of acoustic neuroma and the duration of cellular telephone use, cumulative hours of use, or number of calls; I think most people's reaction would be the same as Keith and Chemda's even if there were a link to cancer, but there is not. |

Having friends over and giving them booze is what Keith did. Expect to either forgive or lose friends if you put them in that situation, especially new friends.
Had they been well seasoned friends, like myself, I would have immediately taken the cracked glasses to Chemda and Keith and watched Chemda squirm as Keith made her smash them. Chemda thinks smashing and stealing things are the same and is somehow hardwired to be unable to do either without looking like a total loon(unless you convince her it will fix it, like her cellphone). Shame on the new friends for their inexperience, the disrespect to some degree, but people are animals. You sleep with dogs you are going to get fleas.

Besides, after that idiot detective in the DC Hummer incident got hauled over the coals I'm sure any cop who decided to draw during a snowball incident wasn't doing so lightly. These idiots who hit and pursued him mistakenly thinking he was just an ordinary helpless Joe need some respect whupped into them. |

I'm surprised to be in the minority on the poll. Sure, things happen at a party, shit gets broken, blah blah blah. I would get pissed off though, knowing one of my friends accidentally broke a glass then went "ah shit, um, ok, lemme see... let's just put this glass over here and back away slowly like nothing ever happened"
Accidents happen. It's an asshole in your house that is apparently afraid of what you might say or do if they fess up at the time. You should seek comfort in the fact that while they said nothing at the time for fear of feeling uncomfortable, imagine how guilty and uncomfortable they are feeling now. Also it's stupid to discuss this snowball business. There's clearly two completely different recounts of what happened. It's not the same case as the lego gun at school or the handcuffed grafitti desk girl. That was law enforcement taking a hard line and not being handled well by the public. In this case, the cop's version of events is seriously different - a scenario where he felt threatened and reasonably entitled to draw a weapon and call backup. Apples with apples people... |
