A) Polanski is an overrated director

B) All the art in the universe does not even out an abominable action like the one he did. Even if he saved the world of cinematography with his movies and saved lives, he would still loose any respect for having raped an underage girl. Some crimes must not be forgiven or forgotten.

C) If you support the person, even if you do it out of love for his art, you're condoning his actions. Any praise, forgiveness or "he just made one mistake" means that that you condone drugging and raping underage girls.

In short terms, some bad actions corrupt the art and take away its value to me.

Besides that, Jesse is still a treasure. That short, tense speech pattern just makes me laugh like an idiot every single time.

Gotta add: the term Guido DOES NOT EXIST in Italy. The Jersey shore guys are an exaggerated version of southern italians. There are some specimens like them over here, but people consider them ridiculous as much as americans do.

These guys have nothing to do with my country, they're an insult to it.

See how ridiculous that sounds? I don't get Keith's perspective on morality. Going back to Polanski, how does the one very bad thing he did mean that all the things he did before or after it are not worthy of praise. Rosemary's Baby is still an excellent movie, as is Chinatown. It just so happens that their creator is a dick. You gotta learn to separate the art from the artist, man.

That being said, I don't know if Tyson has really added anything to the cultural zeitgeist other than biting people and being a laughingstock for the rest of us normal people. But I'm not gonna say he was a bad fighter because he raped a person. Does that make me evil?
Keith paid for his crime. If Polanski paid for his, I'm sure it would be more or less forgotten, or it would be rude remarks made under people's breath at this point. Also, very different scales of crime with very different stigmas.

But I'm with you on separating art from the artist, I still always love Michael Bay movies.

So if someone murders someone "just once" we should just forgive them if they produce good movies or music? So Chris Brown is awesome cause he only hit Rhianna once? Or Lee Harvey Oswald is a stand up guy cause he only killed one president?

There's quite a difference between rape and bad checks. And keith did his time, Roman's been avoiding his crime for years.

I've had a pretty shitty life. Is there a form I can fill out where I get to rape someone? I'll send them my resume and a bio and I assume they deliver someone to my door I can fuck against their will right?

At no point do I excuse Polanski's actions. He did a very bad thing and should be punished for it. But it seems overly simplistic and unproductive to take away his achievement as an artist.

Point me to one place where I said this should happen. At no point do I advocate Polanski's freedom or say he should not be punished. I just ask that one consider the art separately from the artist.

No. I didn't say that. I'm saying that he should not be forgiven for his crime, nor should any of these other people you speak of. If they did create art (and I wouldn't say either of them did, though Oswald might have an argument) I would view and judge it separately from my opinion on either of them (which, again, isn't changed by the fact that they potentially created art). And of course writing bad checks is less drastic than rape. That's the point of me using it. Start with something you know and go from there. Anyways, wouldn't Keith's black-or-white philosophy make them equally bad? You know what he says, "even something as little as littering... dead."

Which episode number is KATG guesting on Mat? It's too hard to tell from the shownotes. Or is it unreleased at this point?
