In Hawaii it's not just about remote area, it's also about astronomical positioning (if that's the right term). I think you still see that if you remove this argument, Hawaii is still much more than people think.

About Mauna Kea "Why Mauna Kea is a unique site for astronomy Mauna Kea is unique as an astronomical observing site. The atmosphere above the mountain is extremely dry -- which is important in measuring infrared and submillimeter radiation from celestial sources - and cloud-free, so that the proportion of clear nights is among the highest in the world. The exceptional stability of the atmosphere above Mauna Kea permits more detailed studies than are possible elsewhere, while its distance from city lights and a strong island-wide lighting ordinance ensure an extremely dark sky, allowing observation of the faintest galaxies that lie at the very edge of the observable Universe. A tropical inversion cloud layer about 600 meters (2,000 ft) thick, well below the summit, isolates the upper atmosphere from the lower moist maritime air and ensures that the summit skies are pure, dry, and free from atmospheric pollutants."

If you went to Walmart and put in $40 cash back on the card processing machine (and your bank was debited $40), and the register printed $46,000, would the store be obliged to pay you the full $46000, or their max allowed cash back of $200?
I think it's the same situation with the slot machine, it's just obscured here because the player doesn't know exactly what they should expect to win and so it's an issue of transparency, it seems weird for the company to say "we have to investigate what the actual payout was", whereas nobody normal would question Walmart because they knew how much they typed in. But as long as an impartial 3rd party can verify the company's process, I think she should get whatever the payout was meant to be.

Wait a minute: A new Harold and Kumar in 3D? With a Christmas theme?
Please dont ruin one of the few franchise that did the gross-out pot comedy well. It's not for kids. Did you see the second one? It was dirty, dirty, dirty. What a pity. |

A Christmas special in 3D? I haven't been to the movies since Up In The Air came out, but this will be a great incentive to spend 12 bucks. I also want to see Kick Ass. That movie looks like a lot of fun, but it could be either awful, or awesome. I think you should be able to pay half-price since it's a gamble. |

My boobs went from a 44DD when I was at my fattest to a 42C at my current weight, which is the same size my boobs were Sophomore year of HS--probably the last time I was at a healthy weight. My overall size is not back to sophomore level, but my boobs got the jump on my gut it seems.
