I would say you just throw out a lot of darts and sooner or later one of them will stick, but it is far more American of me to point out that you do not yet realize the strenff of my dart skills.

Secondly, if you're going to have therapy I recommend finding a therapist with some similar experiences to yours. I would also be very wary of anyone whose first reaction was to start passing out meds. Realistically, most of the drugs out there for anxiety just mask the causes of anxiety. They make you feel better, but also make it more difficult to deal with whatever the real issues are.

I don't think I'm going to go the therapy route just yet. One of the main causes of my anxiety is a long boring story that involves an abusive former employer. That has spilled over into many aspects of my life, including my marriage. Going with drugs was not a "hey... I had a bad day... fuck it give me drugs so I'm always out of it" kind of decision. It's been a long time coming. It's going well so far... so I'm hopeful I can chill the hell out a lot more without feeling like I'm a constant fuckup.

And for the record... that second letter was NOT from my wife. She knows I wrote the show. She has encouraged me to find many outlets for my anxiety... writing KATG just happened to be the latest. I even told her about what the response to the letters were. As you can tell from how I wrote the letters, I've been feeling crappy lately because she isn't as attentive as I would like when I'm stressed out. Anxiety attacks are fucked up like that. Christ, we have two kids and she is a stay-at-home-mom. If anything, I owe it to her to level myself out so I can attend to family needs.

I know you must be sick of ear advice by now, Keith... but have the doctors checked your eustachian tubes instead of just your ears? I have a stupid rare thing called a "patent eustachian tube" that occassionally has me hearing myself really loud and painfully and everything else sounds muffled like I'm underwater. I dont' know about the goop you've been removing from your ears, but maybe it's worth bringing up if the ear candles didn't help (I'm a bit behind on shows, for all I know you're already deaf or able to hear a pin drop in the next state).
