I think if the tapes didn't exist you would be right. But they do, and it's going to extend his troubles a bazillion. Maybe if he were younger he could come back, but a lot of time is going to have to pass, just like with Rourke, and then who would want to watch him as an old guy anyway?

Even if you are right, it's going to take some time- and in the meantime, i'm going to enjoy the amount of shit he gets everytime some new information comes out. He's a scumbag.

I think the real career killer would be his reaction to the tapes issue. He's going to get a lot of shit for this, and he has a thick skin but he's also a raging alcoholic, so he could just drink himself to death.

But his fans love him so much that they'll deny anything. He has a bunch of drooling nerd that have watched every movie he has made, even that "Apoccalypto" shit, and worshipped. They will love him anyway. And they're not a minority.

As far as the "old guy" thing... People went to watch Harrison Ford doing Indiana Jones pushing 70's. If he pulls an "old Mad Max" or something v ery commercial like that, people will go.

Adrienne Iapalucci paraphrased and explained

"I wanted a starter jacket but my parents bought me a trench coat. I am important and they did not recognise. I tell this story at parties."
"I can't wait to be old and do the activity you're promoting - cause no young person would ever do that."
"What if you already know how to pole dance? Doesn't that make your prize worthless?"
"What if you don't have any friends? I'm almost certain your prize is worthless to someone."

"I had mice. Having mice in your apartment is a terrible idea."
"I'm not a huge fan of cops - No follow up story."
"I don't watch a lot of movies"
"I don't like that he wears make up"

About to give up - and then...

"My boyfriend likes Hannah Montana's yoghurt. He's 26, I'm 32. Within the next year he'll be 27 though so it's not odd, interesting or worth talking about. He's a deadbeat but my dog sure does love him"

I know this is different, but ever since Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman broke up, my mother has refused to watch a Tom Cruise movie.

However, I think the fact my mum refuses to watch his movies just because he's maybe a douche (ok, that maybe is my mum's opinion, not mine), and yet refuses to endorse his stuff for the last 10 years....I can only imagine the hard-core reaction of people from this last bout of ridiculousness by Mel Gibson.

The thing is, at the end of the day, who am I as a movie watcher to "make a stand" or whatever. I hve to rely on the reaction of Leonardo di Caprio or whoever to refuse to work with him or else he'll stay playing with his money until it all blows over.

Kate and I killed a wasp back in November, but it wouldn't stop moving. So we cut it up with scissors for a while and made it an example for the others:

Okay, did anybody else think that Shepard (?) was still Gibson when Keith transitioned from the Gibson tapes the Lohan interview? The two just sound a lot alike to me.

I dont get why he keeps being picked for badass action roles, when he's starting to look like a smaller Philip Seymour Hoffmann.

I like him as an actor (I think he was great in Revolutionary Road as the 50's scumbag middle class type. he has THAT face) but he's not an action hero.

What is interesting is that using the N word is going to possibly kill his career, however the fact that he denied that the holocaust ever happened isn't being discussed .... damn jews can't catch a break.

..and I just wiki'd it and apparently Mel isn't short for anything, it's just Mel. I don't trust people with nicknames for names, so that finalizes it for me.
