I think meeting the parents is kinda a big deal. My mom is awesome, and meeting her explains a lot about me. However, she's also nosy and pries into my life a ton, so I don't let her meet just anyone cos once someone I'm dating is on her radar, then she's going to constantly ask me about that person.

On the subject of crazy wins a fight...

This girl that was an exchange student of my aunt and uncle's was standing in line at a little sandwhich shop on the side of the street with her fiance (they were in Switzerland - her home country). Bored in line, her fiance turns around and sees a guy and girl in line behind them. When the guy behind him sees him turn around, he starts giving him shit, saying that he was looking at his girlfriend funny and asks if he's trying to fuck his girl. My friend's fiance just tries too cool off the guy, saying he wasn't trying to look at her and he certainly didn't mean anything by it. The guy gets so worked up he starts beating the shit out of the fiance - so badly that he put him in a COMA. They were planning on getting married within the next couple of weeks and so they had to indefinitely post-pone the wedding (my aunt and uncle were gonna go - they had to cancel their trip). I think he was in a coma for around 3-4 months. Also it turns out that the guy that beat him up had a history of doing this kind of thing - fortunately he's facing long term jail time.

That situation is so fucked up that it makes my girl side kick in and all I can think is that I don't want to encounter that kind of crazy. Even though in this situation it was totally unprovoked and was going to happen regardless - what if there are guys like this dude out there, just waiting for someone to attempt to stand their ground and fight? I totally understand and respect standing up for yourself - like the story with Keith at the bar - you can read when you're dealing with douche bags, but when it comes to some weird crazy guy under a bridge I find nothing wrong with parting with $6 and some fries.

I'm pretty much sure that anything exists somewhere and someone made porn of it at least once (was it rule 39?)...
