God damn you for reminding me how much a nerd I am, I got almost every joke.

Im gonna have to counter you on the Hulk issue though, Hulk is my all time favorite Super Hero (though green lantern has been catching up on him since Hal Jordan's return)

Say what you will about what Loeb is doing with the Red hulk story right now but before this arc we had Planet Hulk and it was amazing. (I'm so hating myself right now)

Seriously though, no offense, but thanks for giving me more reasons to ween myself out of the Nerd Life. Call me an Uncle tom, I don't care.

I can definitely feel for the story about hiding your nerd, if I ever go to a con or off to do something nerdy I tell my dad that we are just going to hang out some where, My dad thinks I spend every Wednesday shooting pool and doing other manly stuff with my friends when I am really going to my schools anime club to watch cartoons and play magic the gathering all night. I feel like my father is just ashamed of me and himself beacuse he raised a nerd so I hide it from him.

I know that black people got offended when Keith did the Nerd/N-word thing, but maybe a more accurate argument would be to compare nerds to gays (Hell, we were both called fags in high school)

i am not a nerd as much as I am a geek and as a black dude i i use my god given coolness to mask it when needed

i wasnt offended at n-word vs nerd because i understood what keith meant. Being called a nerd to a school of only white people was as dehumanizing to them as they would imagine being called the n-word would be to black person. simple to me but what do i know i am a black nerd .

I did some more thinking about the whole structure and the way that the three main "subclasses" of nerd work

Nerd- Into doing nerdy stuff, like D&D and star trek, own costumes and other things of the like.

Geek- Good grades and can actually do stuff, really smart people like Dave for example.

Dork- Socially awkward and finds refuge amongst geeks and nerds as a fellow outcast.

not every nerd is just one of these three things, but this is how I find the community works
