not every nerd is just one of these three things, but this is how I find the community works
you mixed up nerd and geek. nerds are school centric and tend to be very goal centric and geeks are into theyre very focused on tv shows and endevours. like a nerd will watch star trek but only after work is done. A geek ONLY watchs star trek.

He knows, and you're just sad for lying about it. At least own your nerdiness.

the kind that keith hates is the geek as the geek will needle people about non sense and make HUGE deals about nothing in the name of some show they watch

<---guilty of this

See thats what I thoguht at first, but I think the lingo has been changing in recent years, now a days "geek" has been more associated, at least in my opinion, with computers and stuff. People who can fix things and be useful in society. If your knowledgeable in something your a "geek" in it, and geek doesn't have the social stigma that Nerd has been able to keep, so i think its more fitting that nerd be assigned to the one that has more negativity around it.

Sir How dare you, that allegation is a ridiculous and flat out lie...

i guess with the geek squad and the like but I am of the mind that being a nerd means you have a asberger like focus on intellectual pursuits and being a geek means your a asshole with obscure intrests

Well, actually, that's a point of contention. Some people assign meanings as you do, but others assign doctorsleep's meanings. KATG seems to equate nerds with the comic books and all that con culture. There's also a famous quote about geeks vs nerds: "geeks get it done." Comp sci majors often refer to themselves as "computer geeks", as well as the obvious thinkgeek.com and Geek Squad.

Personally, I don't care what I'm called as long as I don't get lumped in with the Con people.
