If a straight guy tried to throw himself all over a girl like a "flamboyant" gay guy does to a guy it would be sexual harassment. Last edited by doctorsleep; 08-25-2010 at 01:21 PM. |

True ignorance pops up with "gay guys are genrally child molestors, "AIDS is gay illness, straight people generally dont get it", "Being gay is a choice", "Homosexuality is a genetic defect or a form of deformity (my father uses this one)", "Gay guys use drugs to lure staright people into committing homosexual acts, that's why aids spreads", "homosexuality isnt present in nature, it is an aberration committed by men"... When you're in Scily have a chat with people about the issue, see if i made any of those up., And it has nothuing to do with the church. Homophobi, ignorance and hate are in the DNA of some part of the population. If all it pops up is "hey i think gay men talk funny", i can live with that. Peacefully so. Let's fight real homophobia instead of raging against petty issues.

A few winters ago we had people stranded on our interstate highway for a full day due to blizzard conditions.
UPDATE: Stranded on I-90 I guess in the China traffic jam it's taking people three days to get all the way through the 62 mile stretch of road. |

Butch lesbians and lipstick ones dont always go along. Drag queen and lesbians too. Bisexuals are reviled from anyone. Flaming guys arent liked by more macho type gay guys. Doesnt surpise me. Inner hatred eats up communites as much as the external one. Sidenote: John F. O'Donnell is a genius. God, the "lesbian bonanza" thing killed me Last edited by Junkenstein; 08-25-2010 at 02:09 PM. |

I think it's funny how in the south they call giant flying roaches "palmetto bugs" to make them sound cuter.
Roaches are the most vile creature I've encountered - the big ones have literally charged at me when I've gone to squish them. I have stepped on one before until it's guts came out and an hour later it was gone. If you try to kill a roach, always make sure you do the twisty motion with your foot - back and forth repeatedly until they are almost unrecognizable. You also have to do this because you need to make sure you are killing any eggs or babies it might be carrying around with it. Maybe that's just something I made up in my head but you can never be too careful with these things. |

Hold on a second - because i didn't really care enough to put a lot of thought into it, i can see how i misspoke there. But you all took that the wrong way. What i meant is you don't generally get a lot of straight guys acting incredibly flamboyant and sounding like Keiths impression of the guy on the show.
I think that is a true enough statement. I meant it that way, not that all gay men speak that way. Jesus. There is no inner hatred or hatred between lesbians and gays there, it just wasn't clear and it was taken the wrong way. It is actually true that there is problems between macho gay guys and flaming queens, and butch dykes and femmes, because i've seen it. But the majority of my friends are straight, and a mix of the above. I have zero issue with anyone, including bisexuals. Also, just because someone says or does something that is homophobic, it doesn't mean they are homophobic. I have friends who sometimes say 'that's so gay'. It just slips out, do i think they have a problem with gay people? No. But you guys are seriously saying that Keith just didn't like the way the guy talked? That it had nothing to do with that the fact that the way he talks probably lets everyone in the vicinity know he's gay? Okay then. Honestly, i didn't really care, i don't think it's that big of a deal, and i can't believe i've been sucked in. I'm insane! Ack. Last edited by ragingindie; 08-25-2010 at 04:21 PM. |

Can we agree that the term "Homophobia" is incorrect to the context of prejudice? Strictly speaking, people who are prejudiced are not afraid, but rather, hate the object of their prejudice.
Fear is too cutesy, and every time I hear the word "homophobe" or "homophobia" my brain automatically thinks of the person who said it, "that person is stupid." |
