Squirrels? Really? That can't possibly be tasty. Maybe with BBQ sauce...

I never really understood why people would, seemingly inherently, dislike or hate guns. Are there any guys out there that really don't like guns, because it seems to be a more typical female response. Makes me think of what Keith has said before, that most guys will think that a sword is cool, maybe it's something along those lines.
Totally agree--I don't get inherent dislike for guns. It's not a matter of what the gun can do, but more what the person does with the gun.

I don't own one at the moment, but I've also been around them my whole life. My dad, and a lot of my family owns them, is trained in how to use them, and regularly hunt, and have trained their family members in how to use them, including me.

Salon did a really comprehensive look at the origins of the "Ground Zero Mosque" in the media, including links to previous articles going as early as December of last year, and a YouTube video:

Was Lauren trying to impersonate Christopher Walken during the last 10 seconds of her spill on why we should donate to KATG? "That's 16 cents a dayyyyy. Stop thinking and do it nowwwww."

Thanks for posting this. I didn't see Junk's request until this morning. Good concise history. Mine was piecemeal over several blogs and websites so one link is better.

I don't think you and Keith are arguing from a bigoted standpoint. Keith is in the area of the attacks so it makes sense that he has a real, visceral response to this. The story itself is what's being manipulated by political hacks who are just trying to get their people elected this fall. And the ginned up controversy is making the real nutso's act out in violent ways by literally attacking Muslim people. The pundits who are pushing this story in bad faith are the sick fucks here, IMO. Because they're willing to use fear mongering and cause violent attacks just to score political points.

Also, I have to give Keith credit -- he's been very consistent on this. He was also against people drawing pictures of Mohammad, because of the consequences that follow. Anyway, even though I don't agree with him on everything I do respect what he has to say.
