I'm Nigerian American and my mother very often sends money back to Nigeria through Western Union.
Bank cards and credit cards aren't nearly as popular there as in the US, so PayPal is much less effective for transferring money. There are many Nigerians living in the US and Europe who support their families back home, so the "Nigerian Special" probably isn't based solely on the e-mail scams. |

I have Chemda to thank for inspiring me to quit Diet Coke.
I, like Chemda, had a Diet Coke addiction, where I needed one first thing in the morning, with most meals, where I would definitely go out to the store just to get some. At my worst, I was probably drinking over 2 litres a day. I have been soda free since 26 December 2008. There have been a couple of times I have had other sodas in a mixed drink eg. vodka and sprite etc. But nothing cola based and not by itself. I totally get the whole smelling of Diet Coke thing... and the whole thing, actually. Anyway, thanks Chemda for being a great soda-quitting role model, and screw all the rest of ya's who don't get it. |

I get it. Just strange all the ads were for Nigeria (she saw many) and nowhere else; and, let's not overlook that they are very happy this scam exists as they can shut it down in a heartbeat any time they wanted to help the customer.

Yours is the only podcast I DON'T listen to at 2x. Partially because you talk faster than most others, but mostly because I care more about what you have to say.

Cosmetics Database
Just found out about this last night and with the discussion on both beauty products and how bad Diet Coke is - I thought this would be the right place to share.
This website (though a little bit overwhelming and kinda messy) tells you the cancer causing levels of all cosmetic products out there. This also includes lotions, sunscreen... I remember this coming up on the show a while back that some sunscreens can actually be more cancer causing than sunburns - well it's definitely true. Also keep in mind that cosmetics, like supplements are not regulated by the FDA. May be worth changing over some of your products - pretty scary stuff. Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Reviews |
