Battery info:

Li-Ion versus NiMH Batteries

Apple - Batteries - iPhone

Basically, fully discharge and recharge once a month, then live like a normal human the rest of the time. Or just get a phone with a user replaceable battery and buy a new one when it goes bad. That's what I did, cost about $15.

LOL

Wait a minute, that was auto-tuning? I thought that it was just a robot programmed for bad karaoke.

It'd be nice if Keith could play a clip of somebody singing without Chemda mockingly imitating it. We all heard it the first time.

I see what you mean, but i really really love any chance of hearing Chemda'0s singing. When she did her impression of old soul divas in an old episode i had goosebumps. She's even great when fakes shitty singing (and i'm not saying this to be ass-kissing. i love her voice, i want more).

Cat, nothing to add beyond that you're a winner.

With the first really bad auto-tuning clip, the duet one, I said "Wow" at the same time as Chemda.

The sound with Cat's phonecall was excellent. For a minute I was confused cause it really sounded like she was in the studio.

there hasn't been an X-Factor series that started without a scandal or some big front page "behind the scenes fight"

in the past judges have been booted off the show, or fights have taken place - or simon has threatened to quit the show because he is so angry at the producers about something or other. - despite the fact that he micro manages every bit of the shows himself.

and every time the season kicks off with another calamity, it gets yards and yards of column inches and airtime minutes. the bullshit dramas and controversies that surround the show are as real as the ones surrounding wrestling.

cowells PR manager is none other than Max Clifford, a nasty piece of work who can get any story he wants across all media. news outlets are scared not to print what he tells them and too scared to print anything he tells them not to.

a Louis Theroux documentary "when Louis met Max" gives a pretty good insight to what a manipulative but powerful guy he is. - otherwise he is probably best known for getting the headline "Freddie Starr ate my hamster" on the front page of britains biggest daily newspaper. it was the story of how Starr - a comedian (and client of Hastings) had supposedly eaten a hamster belonging to a (heartbroken) child.

nothing in tv is real anymore

I remember being in a pub drunk and someone who could be in the know said whole The X-Factor/Idol Cowell/Fuller thing was an agreement between the two when Fuller took the US and Cowell took the UK rather than compete. I guess their agreement has run out.

About watching movies in twice the speed: When I took a film class I had to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey. Dear lord that was a boring movie. I got through it by fast forwarding through the scenes with no dialogue. And every movie that had subtitles I was able to fast forward through the whole movie.

I love it when Chemda makes fun of bad singers, hell, even doing that she sounds awesome.

On the miners, after the first 2 weeks we didn't know if they were alive, after the mine collapsed, a search team started drilling over the area where they expected the miners to be, and they were found 17 days later, all of them alive.

Keet, I don't think a cell phone would be any good 700 meters (around 2297 feet) underground (winking smiley face).

I don't know if they are jerking off, if you were eating every 48 hours would you? I don't have an answer for that and nobody has asked them, but a few days after being found they did mention that beer and dirty magazines would be nice.
