I hate to sound like a slurpy nerd, but the petit (like in petit larceny) is pronounced (and sometimes spelled) "petty".

That's probably why more than one guest has been like, "what the hell is petite larceny? I've never heard of that before."

Fuck no; no friend with any parasites gets to stay at my place. I had head lice once (I have hair down to my waist; yeah, not cool) and it made my life fucking miserable. I don't care where the little shits live - hair, bed, skin (scabies) - nobody steps foot in my house if they've had recent contact with any of those fuckers.
