Your points are very arguable because you're taking one semi-valid point, and trying to extend it to a ridiculously selfish conclusion that is entirely unrelated to it. That fans are important to a show is true, but that does not lead to the conclusion that this importance extends to every facet of a show and the lives and principles of the hosts. A show may be more inclusive of it's fans than others, and want fans to enjoy a more interactive experience than others, but the basic relationship between fan and show still remains the same - the fans belief about what is best for the show is superceded by what the creators (aka the people ultimately responsible for the show) think is best. But really at this point why keep up the bullshit that this is about "the fans"? That this is somehow your attempt to champion the cause of the fan against a system that is broken, as if you were the Spartacus of KATG leading the revolt? No, this is about you. This is about believing that because you have given the valuable gift of your fandom, implying that you are getting nothing of value in return (which I guess could be true because they give the shows away for free), that this valuable commodity can be traded against the show as a whole, and you at some point will collect on this debt. Because the show owes you who gives a fuck if someone comes in a shits all over Keith and Chemda as long as you're being entertained? Who cares if someone comes in and violates an agreement they had with Keith and Chemda because you find them funny? And how dare Keith and Chemda selfishly stand up for themsleves, if it will impede upon your selfish idea of what the show should be? This is the entitlement I was speaking of in my original post, and I hate to be the one to break it to you but your opinion doesn't always matter. If you actually think that as a fan you are just as important to the show, or that because they have fans to think of (which is retarded anyway because a shitload of fans agreed with them booting Danny and Myka which means, again, we're talking about you) Keith and Chemda can't make decisions based on personal feelings or beliefs (I believe you called them grudges), but you can, then you need to get a fucking clue and go live in the real world for awhile. i keep fhearing people who still think that the show cannot live without pandering to whatever a bunch of basement dwelling nitwits decide. But thank god they have went beyond that retarded "cult" thing and became POPULAR. they have a large audience now. and they can do whatever the fuck they want (although they always could) and they can also tell you to fuck off ig you dont like it and go on without you. if it wasnt like that, they wouldnt even have survived the breakup with the moronig backlash it got them. Thank god they have sponsors and can be people with happy lives instead of being puppets that have to justify themselves to people like you.

Keith and Chemda own Keith and the Girl, they decide what to and how to do their show. There is no contract with the fans requiring them to keep the fans in mind when making decisions. They do what they believe is best for their show and themselves. Keith and the Girl is successful because, Keith and Chemda are talented podcast personalities, they spend time/effort/money in producing a quality product, and it is 100% their show. Hollywood could learn a thing or two from Keith and the Girl. For example the movie Captain America, what a piece of shit... this movie was clearly made for fans, not by people who care about comic books, Captain America, editing, or writing... it was so transparently formulaic... 1 - Hunky Actor, 1 - Super Villain Nazi, 1 - Hot chick (debatable) and call it Captain America Hunky Guy become super hero (after 45 minutes), Fights Super Villain, and girl falls for him... That the perfect fan formula for a Hollywood Comic book movie... but it sucked because fans don't make good movies; talented actors, writers, directors, cinematographers, hell even grips make a good movie. In the same manner Keith and the Girl fans don't make the podcasts, talented hosts (and interns) do. Last edited by bikertom; 11-02-2011 at 12:11 AM. |
