Ignorance can be humorous. That I never disagreed upon.

That seems like the ideal situation to me, and probably to most comedians. Not that hecklers can't be handled, or that we as comedians shouldn't be able to deal with something unforeseen, but most of us would rather not have heckling, if given the choice. And for people who do, they can encourage it.

My ideal comedy situation is performing for people who have some maximal combination of these attributes: they want to be there, they like comedy, they know how standup works, they know who i am, and they listen. And if I ask them to say things, then they say things. And if I ask them not to, they don't.

It seems like that's the understanding that Keith has with his audience.

Thank you and you're welcome. (Let's keep switching off saying both of those things forever!)

You give out such a usually polite and gentle vibe, i have a hard time picturing you going on a heckler response like, say, joe de rosa or Stanhope (who, by the way, deovted 5 times of his set to a "helping" heckler, the first time i saw him). How do you shut them up, myq?

Still going to rome, btw? hope you'll eventually talk about it on the show. curious to hear what your views of italy are.

i thought i already responded to this, but it's not here, so here it is now:

1) hecklers honestly aren't that common, but usually i just try to honestly inquire why they're doing what they're doing. (with heckling, or with their lives.) i actually had someone yell out the another night, and i just said "sir, i'm talking about fisting up here, and somehow YOU'RE the one who is inappropriate," among some other things. but that's why i like comedy.)

2) just got back from rome. it was awesome. and will remain a secret. until i tell you everything about it. like it's really easy to be vegan there, and the food is awesome. also they have some old buildings. and the delta sky club in laguardia (which is an italian word, therefore relevant) is pretty sweet too. so, italy is great because they have free things on the way there, and also things there.
