oh i am no convinced on marriage either. mostly because getting out of it if the two cant stand each other is way too problematic. And besides the romatic aspect of it or the money/legal stuff i dont see the necessity, although if i was with someone who wants to and i loved them i would do it without even questioning.

I just thought that it isnt as sexist as it used to be. actually i think laws are more on women's side, lately.

I'm not touching that. It's just a huge pointless fight in the making. I'm guessing it has something to do with child support, though.

I've been married for almost 20 years. I'm happy about it almost every day. Sure, there were rough patches, but overall it's been great. We're still learning the best ways to interact with each other. That's a reality of life. I've realized that if I don't like the way things are going, I need to take control of them. If I don't do it, who can I blame other than myself?

But, shit, I'm 44. I only have a few more years to live! Thanks, Blitzgal!

I think my words were maybe misinterpreted or came out wrong, so let me try again:

I hope to be married to my fiance until my last breath. I pray and and am quite convinced that is how it will be. (Unless he bugs me too much or one of us gets ugly with age. JK!) But I can't predict the future, and neither can any one else, except Keith So try to be encouraging of this really exciting adventure I'm about to embark on, not so judgmental, and join me in hoping for the absolute best I can hope for -- a long happy life together, surrounded by supportive friends.

And enjoy this pretty picture that Alex took of us getting engaged.
