I voted yes before listening to the show because if prostitution was legal maybe we would get fewer doctorsleep threads.

It’s the world’s oldest profession, may as well make it legal and taxable. By legalizing it women who decide to sell sex will at least have more of an option other than a pimp that is going to smack them around when they are not force feeding them heroin. I don’t think this will solve the problem of illegal prostitution but it will help.

Decriminalize it, tax it, regulate it and let the prostitutes unionize.

If they're afraid that the pimp-ho hierarchy will remain after prostitution becomes illegal, we could try outlawing some previously-legal profession, like Accounting and see if the pimp-accountant phenomenon emerges. If it does, then obviously pimps only emerge in illegal sectors, and then we can decriminalize Accounting and prostitution. If we criminalize accounting around tax season, the whole experiment wouldn't take much time at all, maybe a couple of weeks.

Find one prostitute that understands what it means to unionize.

And I don't understand the comparison. One tries to sing, the other doesn't. Diamonds, fast cars, greed, and ignorance are cool and totally grammy material. Deliberating on whether to kick it in the front seat or sit in the back seat is not (cool people instinctively shotgun, ainec).
