I also saw American Pimp from that recommendation, I think that movie is absolutely glorious




A more serious related movie (but less awesome) is Very Young Girls, which is a documentary from point of view of the whores (named so because many prostitutes start as young as 13). They actually have to go to ho-rehab because they fall in love with their pimps and "relapse" back into ho-ing.

im still not convinced that Sheen is not pulling a Joaquin Phoenix on a huge scale. Maybe ticket prices are going down but EVERYBODY is talking about it. If the first night of the tour had been ok no-one would follow the rest

Not all black people live in 'the hood'. Not all black people who live in 'the hood' come from shitty, abusive or single-parent families. The issue doesn't come down to race. It's much more complex than that.

If anything, that movie should have made you classist. Or you should be discriminating against people who come from shitty, abusive families while living in 'the hood'. Or any minorities/black people (even white people) who the system has failed.

There are minorities and black people who beat the system.

I understand why it would make you racist but that doesn't make it forgivable.
