Well, I don't litter, and I just don't like other people telling me what I can and can't put in my body. I respect the people around me, without big brother watching me.

You might think twice about going quietly along with the no smoking bans. What if they try to take away beer gardens because drunks are assholes too? I see just as many people drop bottle tops as I see people drop cigarette butts. And last time I checked, cigarettes usually don't make people wanna fight.

So even though you might not care about smokers cuz you don't smoke, but if you give the government an inch they'll take a mile.

I think it should just boil down to being curtious. You can be an asshole doing just about any act, and can piss people off, but does that mean you need a law against every assholish activity? I'm an adult, I know how to respect people and clean up after myself -- don't need a cop helping me out.

Shit if there was a law against people bothering other people, I'd have Keith in court because he hurts my feelings on the show. But I make the choice to listen, it's not like Keith is forcing me listen to his show.

If I'm in a smoking area with no one beside me, then you come stand right next to me, you have no right to bitch about my smoking, you could just go stand somewhere else.

Believe me, I wanna quit smoking, it is a nasty habit, but smokers are already treated like outcasts, and we just take it, and stand outside in the snow or blazing heat so that everyone else is comfortable. There's just no reason to ban smoking outside in parks (especially parks the size of Central Park).

Of course I'm joking. I am usually laughing my ass off when Keith is ragging on me. He just makes me laugh even if he's giving me shit.

I was just trying to make a point, that you can't have a law against people being assholes, and I think that's what this whole park smoking ban is. Inconsiderate smokers are just assholes and they're probably assholes about things other than just their smoking habits. But not all smokers are assholes by default.

i agree but i can guarantee that youre just going to get "yes they are" as an answer. even considering that i think there's more assholes between non-smokers than between smokers.

Yep, I'm sure that's gonna be the answer I get. I guess the only reason I got into the topic so much is because I actually go out of my way to not litter and not bother anyone around me. I would never smoke in a crowd of people at a bus stop, and the worst I come to littering is an OCCASIONAL butt down a storm drain.

Another reason I'm so anal about throwing away my butts properly is because I was in a house fire started by a cigarette when I was about 18, and actually saw the backdraft happen -- the scariest shit I've ever seen in my life. So throwing a cig on the ground would just make me worry that it would light some paper, then burn a building down.
