The "talk" page for that entry is a riot! They've got a guy in there arguing that Paul Revere was obviously warning the British, because some guy at the LA Times said it yesterday! Yes, Paul Revere and the other riders, who warned rebels face to face in the dark of night so as to avoid capture, rang bells and yelled so the British would be intimidated.

Conservapedia also altered their entry to specifically mention that Revere was protecting our 2nd amendment rights. (The Constitution didn't exist yet, FYI) But they have some history nerds over there who freaked out, so I think it's already been changed back.

Regarding "Foreign Accent Syndrome", you may be interested to know that there was a case in 2006 where a woman from Newcastle (A Geordie!) woke up with a Jamaican accent.

And in 2004 when I was in hospital (in England), I was temporarily gifted with an impeccable English accent after being given some sort of gas to numb the pain. It was only a dislocated finger, so it was a small dose of gas, and I was back to my normal yankee self in no time. It was an odd experience, though.

I think companies that promote this should be done under the trade description act. They usually suggest you eat lots of vegetables, and usually the ones that are really full of toxins, such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, garlic, etc. If they really wanted people to not put food without toxins in them, they should recommend fresh meat.

It should be called the toxic diet, instead of a detox diet.

Having said this, the toxins in the diet are actually good for you, your body uses the chemical compounds in the vegetables.

I don't understand what you mean about meat being less toxic than vegetables. Detoxing through a meat-free, dairy-free, alcohol-free, caffeine-free (and ideally sugar-free and gluten-free) diet does wonders for the body. It resets your body's ph levels, and allows your body to work on expelling toxins rather than constantly processing new ones. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE meat, booze, sugar, wheat, etc. But I detox for at least one week (if not a month) out of the year, and I always feel unbelievably good by the end of it. It's so good to metaphorically press that reset button every once in a while. Give your body a break. It also does wonders for your will-power, and forces you to be a bit more creative with your foods and lifestyle for a while.
