im anti-abstaining as a principle, mostly because i find extremely disrespectful towards people who are unable to vote. but in this case its really a logical answer.

although, ive seen the bad conseuqences of abstaining in my country.

That's dumb. It's extremely disrespectful to your country and the democratic process to try to shame people who shouldn't be voting into voting.

Any vote is only as good as the people voting in it, and everybody who gets somebody to vote for the sake of voting is actively and willfully hurting the ability of that vote to do any good whatsoever.

i guess the problem is that most abstainers do it out of apathy and not with a good reason, so i kinda think of that as a "who gives a fuck"

I understand that when the choice is between terrible choice and terrible choice, what reason is there to vote? I always vote where I live, and I'm proud to say that no one I've ever voted for has ever gotten into office. Because I vote for the best person for the job, and they never seem to get the popular vote.

I would be happier voting, if there were a "none of the above" box, and if enough people voted for none of the above, they scheduled another election with different candidates.

I hope you're happy with whoever currently holds the office then. Because that could take awhile.

So when you get a speeding ticket, you don't even bother fighting to get the increased fine because that's still losing. No, you just say "I refuse to be a part of this" and take the points plus insurance hit. Smart.

Except in this analogy, DWarrior, you are the one stomping on my gas pedal while I tell you, "No, don't, I don't want to speed."

So you're right. I should kill you and every other motherfucker that is personally trying to do damage to me so that I can do the right thing unimpeded.

My analogy involved a choice being forced on somebody, while yours involved somebody having to deal with the consequences of a decision they made. If you think that's remotely applicable, you are an utter moron.

I just had to go back and listen to this show again because it was so enjoyable. SO funny. I know that Chemda admitted later that she hadn't eaten protein, and was slightly drained, but I felt like she was extra hilarious and executed it beautifully. Well done! She has also inspired me to enter into another detox for at least a week. I've always been an incredibly healthy person, but in the past couple of months, I've been really off-kilter. Sick, hungry all the time, wiped out, etc. Time for a bit of change. Back to the veggies, back to the gym.
