I seriously doubt it was "having protein" that did it because that's not how it works, it was most likely just having more food in general. 2 lbs of broccoli (which is the big bunch you buy) is 130 calories, which is basically a light snack.

It might have been just switching to the diet in general. I know from personal experience that I get sluggish when trying to re-adjust.
