Chemda is more logical in the TV situation. Her line of thinking makes complete sense if you follow it from start to finish. It's clear. If someone wants a $700 TV first off, is it really possible to change their mind after without slight disappointment? Keith's thought process is more about the context of being within a relationship and emotions that come with that, whether he realizes it or not. You can tell by the way Keith reacted to the (joke) comment about the $300 TV.
edit: Both Keith and Chemda are "right", but have a different way of going about the situation. People will naturally assume that someone is giving in if their first choice is not selected and they change their mind after. It's human nature to believe that person "gave in"...just as it's pretty common for a lot of men to change their minds about household stuff (especially) when their significant other has something else in mind. I get the reasoning behind keeping what you already bought, but there's a difference if you're deciding about it at the store. If it's not that much more perhaps it would be a better investment. I think it's more about how it appears to be versus what Keith is saying. He could've been completely honest about the fact that he didn't mind he got a $500 TV. It's just interesting to think about how some people in relationships make the final decisions and some don't. And usually it's not that equal. I'm not judging guys when I say this. I'm more curious about the stats. |
