well, as far as my experience goes, the ones who did that and kept it were the type who had rotten food leftovers, dirty underwear and treash all over their room. and usually had to be forced into washing dishes or doing anything in that direction. usually its the younger types, bgut i know sdome who went back to that after breaking up/divorcing with their partners.

lot of dudes cant fix a meal, clean, take care of themselves and think thats normal. so they either get their shit together at some point or spiral into utter pig like behaviour. which includes, sometimes, bottles full of piss and cigarette butts.

still it's not "normal" at all.

That's kind of my point. No excuse now.

We may find our ancestors 'disgusting' but they would not have found themselves so.

There's nobody in the 1780s filled with self-loathing because they keep a potty under their bed, dreaming of that day when the universalisation of ensuite bathroomry would rid them of their existential dread.

By the 1880s, sure, yes, they might have imagined such a rosy piss-free future.

By the 1980s there'd have to have been something a bit wrong with them.
