While I love it when Jesse is on the show, I will be voting him as the worse guest this year. Why can't the man speak into the mike? Doesn't he have a mike voice? He's supposed to know how to use mikes if he is a standup comic, isn't he? I had to keep turning the volumne of my MP3 player up and down, up for Jesse, down for Keith and Chemda. And that isn't easy while I'm walking to work carrying my stuff and an umbrella through the rain.
I wouldn't say Jesse has a mike voice. Mike's voice is very different from Jesse's, it had a bit of a nerdy sound but that works great with his plays on words and puns. Though it would be easier to tell if Jesse would talk into the damn mic for once.

The Wild Bunch is the only one I've ever heard of:
Sam Peckinpah - IMDb

the other GREAT one is Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid (the one that had the original 'knocking on heaven's door in it', btw) and "Bring me the head of alfredo garcia" has been ripped off/hommaged by a zillion directors (and its one of my favourites). he also made the original "Getaway" which is a million times better than the remake.

others are less good, but he kinda defined a style i love (violent epics with larger than life characters)

Is there a rape in all of his movies? He does seem to have a hard on for revenge stories.
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The plot description for Pat Garrett is much shorter.

Rape is as common in film as it is in the real world unfortunately. In fact, a movie that I am writing at this very moment has a rape in it... although it is a man being raped by another man. (thought I'd switch it up for art.)

its really complicated to explain the man but he had a thing for movies that portrayed the brutal side of humanity but coupled with old school romticism.

which means yes, there were rapes, killings and brutality (anbd a lot of what could be considered misoginy) but also the idea of brotherhood, honour, male friendship, and heroes dying in the name of something greater or to go out guns blazing.

still he was kinda like the real life version of Ian McShane in Deadwood so his movies werent exactly respectful towards modern sensibilities.

Straw Dogs was a different thing cause with that one he really wanted to go for the throat with the idea of human being like animals.

Whatever trailer for Straw Dogs KATG saw, I don't think they can complain. They had 40 years to see the movie: Straw Dogs (1971) - IMDb

I've seen it before

Just quoted to say, I love Deadwood. And damn Milch for not continuing it.

I might watch The Wild Bunch. The idea of starting the story at the end of their career when the rest of the West has left them behind is very interesting to me.
