Give it time. Years from now. Some office job in the future. They’ll get handed a card. “What’s this, I’m busy.” Oh so-and-so has a birthday. “Huh? I’m doing me right now.” Just sign the card.

I totally agree on the kids spending their money on their parents theory. My 9 year old bought me a 5 Euro cake for easter and I've been buying her more stuff ever since. I suspect she is planning on getting me sushi for my birthday next week so its basically gonna be christmas for the rest of the year now
