Do you have a NVidia card or an AMD/ATI card? 'Cause every single AMD/ATI driver at the time of launch was incompatible with the game. It's only after the game was launched that a hotfix driver was available that worked with the game. Playing with normal drivers gave extreme lag and pop in texture issues. There's really no excuse for that, when my friend had a 6970 with a 2500k. You can pretty much max every single game at 1080 with those. He played Rage on medium and still got huge lag.

EDIT: Speaking of bad shooters, Call of Juarez: The Cartel is so bad, in more ways than one. I wish they'd make more shooters that are actually fun, like the original Perfect Dark or the earlier Call of Duties. This new thing with regenerating health is pretty dumb. That feeling of trying to ambush your enemies while knowing that you have so little health that you die as soon as someone looks at you can't be felt when you get full health from waiting two seconds.

i have an AMD and i know the issues. i had to download drivers and get pissed, which i admit means bad developing, but it works now.

not saying its a good port, but its not as bad as a lot say it is. still, pc gaming could be great and its being treated badly.

ADD: apprently Arkham City has driver issues too. i wanted to get it for pc but that and the fact that the ps3 price was lower.... well.

To be honest, a lot of the PC games I've been playing lately are small or indie games. Aquaria, Braid, and Recettear are more interesting to me than Metro 2033 or Deus Ex HR at this point. There are examples of PC ports getting better, though, like Resident Evil. 4 was so horrible on PC but very fun on Wii. 5 was great on PC.

apples and oranges. most small indie games are gorgeous but they couldnt sell to the same market as traditional games. i am very much into all sorts of entertaining things, but Braid isnt for everyone and i know a few who cant stand Minecraft.

Deus Ex - HR is a beautiful game, works better on pc than on console really. but still plenty of people hate it because its not linear and simple.

Are video games going to start being like movies for Keith, where the vast majority suck? Then people start giving all sorts of suggestions, and get pissed when Keith doesn't like them? I guess only as long as Cat is away.

Anyway, I hate "story-driven" video games also, but in trailers they never really say whether they are that type of game or not, they need to add that as a category. I kinda chuckled when Keith said he got LA Noire, cause that was all it was marketed as.

I can't picture the abomination that is Keith's female orgasm. He has almost no awareness of his own body (can't stop mid-pee, can't pop his ears, wink, etc), so I cannot imagine him imagining what another gender feels.

I'm gonna go jerk to that.

Well, if it's not story driven, what's it gonna be? It's not like gameplay is that different in most modern games of the same genre. Point at bad guy. Shoot. If you've played one shooter, you've more or less played them all. Games with amazing stories like Planescape Torment and The Longest Journey, while extremely bad (almost u playable, actually) in terms of gameplay, will always be great for how well the story was told. Sure, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic has a horrible version of AD&D for gameplay, but the big plot twist is amazing. Meanwhile, every single Madden game is the same thing, including the gameplay. I more treat video games like books. Sure, I'll read some fanservice heavy manga for fun, but if I had time, I'd rather read a good novel.

EDIT: Wait, you can stop peeing at will? That's ridiculous.

I must be the 1% then. It's pretty frickin easy.

I pretty much disagree with 100% of Sashi's post that I understand. Shooters are not all the same. If you can't appreciate the technical and tactical nuances, then I guess you need something like story lines to keep you entertained.
