Keith Malley: Successful talkshow host, author & comedian in love with a hot & brainy irish girl. If your parents had any effect it seems to have worked out ok.
I'll be out back diggin holes for the rest of the day cos my parents were great but I'm currently single & unemployed... |

I just want to chime in as someone who was positively affected by her parents. My father was religious and we went to church every week, however he was also very intellectually curious and we went to the library every week as well. He encouraged me to question things and to seek answers on my own.
My mother always pushed me to go farther and to test my limits. I know that's because she grew up in a truly horrific home (abusive alcoholic father and manic depressive mother) and had to take care of herself from a young age. So she always wanted to make sure that we could take care of ourselves, too. But overarching this, she always wanted us to be happy first. So it was a kind of back and forth push with her to always try to be better, but be happy, too. But I never got the harassment that other girls get to be married and have kids. And she trained me to be independent. I don't post this to brag. I've heard so many terrible stories about families, and my own mother grew up in a terrible home. I feel very blessed to be in a family that gets along with each other and likes to hang out with each other. The worst crap that happened to me was not caused by my family.

I really laughed today
Keith, you were so funny, today.
Well you all were of course. And I love hearing Chemda lose it completely. You know what I would love to hear? Keith have that conversation that Patrick had with his Dad. Well, not that exact conversation. I would love to hear that and I'd love if you got a sound bite of him saying "Have you ever thought about getting a real job." Hope you are all well and Chemda, I look forward to hearing all your shows when I get some more money. Not possible just now. Thanks for the laughs, Peter |
